The Jakaranda Children’s Home stands as older as most young adults in this day and age, having been founded back in 1987. Back then, it was called the Abraham Kriel Kinderhuis. The organisation has undergone great swathes of change in order to continuously evolve and support its goal.

Jakaranda Children’s Home is, as the name suggests, a Non-Profit Organisation dedicated to the care of children. Children are literally this world’s future, and they aim to protect that future however much they can. Jakaranda Children’s Home takes care of 250 children given to them by the Child Court, wherein they are provided with everything they need to adapt to the modern world: Therapy, medical treatment, safety and love.

They develop and implement an array of development projects to try and help these children develop skills and better themselves. They boast an array of programmes, encouraging fitness, self defence, skill learning, and ultimately supporting the children leaving the organisation to start their own lives. Jakaranda Children’s Home even leverages sponsors to make sure that these children can have as many opportunities as possible for them to use.

Supporting South Africans hosts an array of products from Jakaranda Children’s Home, with the main theme of these products being that everything’s in a jar. It’s a fun concept, with the organisation going for the tried-and-true rusks in a jar idea, all the way up to first date kits and, a favourite among the staff of SSA, a jar of nothing.
